to vote is guaranteed that his or her vote will be counted and considered when electing the president.

And for those who support the Electoral College, ask yourselves these questions. How is the continuous engagement of the Electoral College congruent with the ideal of democracy; where every person has a vote that is counted and considered? Why is it that our current means of electing the nation's president is weighted and gives advantages to the votes of states with only small populations? And if we, the American

people, are not guaranteed the right for our own personal vote to be counted in a presidential election, then why do we even show up to the polls every four years? The fact of the matter is that we cannot rely on our government to truthfully and accurately demonstrate the people's choice. It is so unfortunate that we must pretend to live in a democratic nation that claims to work "for the people" and "by the people." Ultimately, when electing our president, we cannot count on the government, we cannot count on our state electors, and we certainly cannot count on the Electoral College.
