Ski Trip Lesson: Mountains are steeper than they look.

Mountains are steeper than they look. After finally getting off of the demon chairlift, I found myself staring over the precipice of what felt like a long, wide cliff of white. A sense of awe and confusion overcame me. People seemed to be defying gravity, traveling down this cliff at high speeds with thin little sticks strapped to their feet. I wasn't on the ground, I was floating above it; the ground looked miles and miles away. I gulped as I realized that the only way to reach the ground was down. That was also the first moment in my life I realized that I occasionally suffer from bouts of severe vertigo. Appropriate timing.
