The
week that we were finally ready to get a puppy,
with no more excuses left except for the chance that there might not be
one we wanted, we checked Lifeline’s website for their updated list of
puppies. The had two Great
Dane mix and a litter of three Rottweiler/Shepard mix puppies.
Rottweiler was the other breed we had talked about getting.
Some people are afraid of them, but anyone who has known one will
tell you how loyal and sweet they are.
It
was snowing, so I almost used that as an excuse to not go.
I was so panicked that I was making myself sick, hadn’t been
able to sleep or eat. Eric
assured me that we could just look, we were just going to look, and that
made me feel a bit better. So
we headed to Brighton, telling each other that if it didn’t feel right,
we’d just look and come back home, that we didn’t have to get a puppy
yet if we didn’t find the right one.
Even so, we had towels, a blanket, collar and leash, just in case.
