Sometimes it is more important to be quiet and listen. These last few weeks, I had a lot happening in my life and it seemed like the appropriate thing was to observe, listen and learn. I haven't done any writing, other than completing an application to be a Writing Center tutor, answering some e-mail and transcribing an hour long interview I had done. I was writing some in my journal, but feeling like my most important and immediate task was paying attention.

As I explained earlier, as soon as I committed myself to living without fear, the Universe took my challenge. Suddenly, my quiet existence became filled with new difficulties, and opportunity.  In the graduate level nonfiction workshop class that I am taking, we were given a series of assignments that involved making contacts and doing interviews with people I didn't know that well. This was difficult for me. Honestly, just the idea, the very thought of it, completely freaked me out.
