Poppy

Poppy is my grandfather, Howard Joseph McKinney. I will have a picture up soon.

Poppy was an interesting man, to say the least. At various points in his life, he was a train conductor, a mortician, a barber, a farmer -- a whole lot of other stuff.

During his days as a train conductor (hence Poppy Choo-choo), he got the 15 minutes Warhol alotted us all. In the film Cat Balou with Paul Newman, there is a scene with a locomotive in the background. It is Poppy Choo-choo sitting in the conductor's seat. Poppy taught an awful lot of us how to hunt and fish, and many other things -- among them, how to cuss like a big dog.
