Now you might be wondering what exactly a "Sue Ellen" is. There are certain qualities that one must either inherit or develop to earn the "Sue Ellen" title. I think the most important one is to be uncomfortable with silence in a conversation. This speaks volumes to why my brothers could never be "Sue Ellens." Both of them are very quiet and it's no wonder, in a family full of "Sue Ellens," they couldn't get a word in edgewise.
God forbid, you forget what you were going to say when talking to my mom. She spares no expense to help you recall it. It quickly becomes a game of charades. "Could it have been about the car? You were talking about your car a minute ago. Or was it about talking to one of your sisters? You said you called Sara the other day." You see, first she poses a question to try and spark your memory, then she tells you why she suggested it. The beauty of this is that she leaves no time for answers. If you're persistent then you could possibly sneak in a "no" or a "maybe" but you have to be good at it.
