Overview: Including Outside Sources

Once you have evaluated your source materials and selected the ones you are going to use, you must decide on how best to include them in your work: quoting directly, paraphrasing passages or, simply summarizing the main points.

One, two or all three can be used in a document. The following sections provide instructions, examples and discussion on a range of issues related to this topic.
