Tulsa Air Announcement
With great sadness we wish to inform our customers of the loss of our beloved father this past Sunday from cancer of the pancreas. Buddy Wright, or "Bud" as he was known to all, founded this company in 1946 and led it to its present state of being the third-largest air conditioning supplier and servicer in the greater Tulsa area. All who knew him remembered Bud as a great practical jokester who always had a laugh for any situation. He was also a churchgoing man and his last wishes were to donate half of his considerable fortune to the Methodist Church. Service will be held Friday afternoon with a reception to follow at the offices of Tulsa Air, where there will be commemorative hats, flyswatters, and pencils for all.
Bud is survived by four sons and a daughter, his wife, Ethel, and eight grandchildren.
Great-uncle Buddy, the businessman. Every Christmas we got hats from him with the Tulsa Air logo and our family name emblazoned below it. During the recession we got flyswatters with "Wright" and "Tulsa Air."
Perhaps because I didn't know him, perhaps because I never had a brother myself, I could never imagine him as I wandered through my grandfather's house.
