About "Snow"

I developed this piece of creative hypertext for a graduate course at Colorado State University. Although its primary function is for a class, feel free to explore if you have an interest in creative uses of hypertext.

Snow is the theme of this site's design as much as its content; the goal is to get the reader "lost" in each hypertext piece as one might get lost in a snowstorm. This can be frustrating for the uninformed reader, but the effect is purely intentional. By getting lost, and looking in circles, you may find you stumble upon something that you missed the first time.

All of the background images are photographs of real snow or snowy scenes. The backgrounds for "Native Coloradoan," "Disappearing Footprints," and the Intro/Menu were all created from original photographs taken during the March 2003 blizzard. Photos for "Trees of the Tao" were also (sadly) taken during the same storm. The background for "Trees of the Tao" was created from a stock photo of a winter scene. The logo for the Weather Channel was mercilessly "borrowed," but as I really am addicted to the Weather Channel, please check out their fabulous site.
