Board Trip Lesson: No really, chair lifts are terrifying.

I remembered the horrors of the big lift from my ski trip, so I psyched myself up before going snowboarding. I knew what to expect this time, and I had a good friend with me who was willing to humor my intense fears. Research informed me that it was difficult getting off of lifts with a snowboard, so I didn't wear mine while riding up the mountain. My buddy Terry even held my snowboard for me on the lift so I could hang on to the rail with both hands. And he even told me when to open my eyes. The chairlift was no problem.
