Some disclaimers about what you are about to read. I am working on a series of vignettes about Kentucky. They are intended to be short but, I have a tendency to get off on tangents. This could have something to do with the water in Kentucky. So what I mean is, I’m used to people looking at me and saying, “What in the sam hell are you talkin’ about?”

In an effort to avoid that here, my vignettes may go a bit beyond what some would consider the proper length. I thought it was more important that you understand what I’m trying to convey so each piece might be longer than I anticipated. Hopefully you’ll at least know when I’m off task. I’m nothing if not a communicator.

That aside, I’ve tried to make these separate vignettes relatively independent but still linked together. So although there may be specific things in each one that are unclear, once you have read all the vignettes those things should reveal themselves. Also, I've attempted to make the breaks within a particular vignette at a reasonable stopping point to allow you to come and go within the site as you please. Like I say, I tried
