In preparation for today's "devil's advocate" activity, write your intended audience, your tentative thesis/claim, and possible reasons in support of this claim in a format similar to the sample below. (You don't need to use evidence at this point.) Make sure to leave lots of space after the claim and between each reason, so that other students can respond to these ideas. (Follow the format below, and make use of the back side of your paper.)

Sample:

Audience: High School Principals

Thesis/Claim: Condom education should be implemented in public high schools.

Reason 1: Students are having sex anyway.

Reason 2. It has been proven that programs that educate high schoolers about condom use are effective in preventing the rate of contraction of AIDS in high schools.

Reason 3: Parents are, overall, in support of condom education.
