Goals of the Assignment

In addition to continuing our discussion of language and literacy, this assignment includes the following goals:

• identifying common issues and ideas in a group of readings
• identifying how a group of readings addresses a common question
• selecting and synthesizing material from readings
• stating a position and showing how it relates to other viewpoints
• organizing a coherent response
