Strategies
- Focus specifically on the question to which you are responding.
- Develop/Explain the authors' positions and your own using specific examples from the
articles, your experience and observations, and possibly, other texts. In other
words, explain both what each of you believe the answer is to the question and
why they--and you--believe it.
- Synthesize the authors' ideas (rather than experiences) and your own all together by
comparing and contrasting reasons and subissues.
- Organize your paper around the issue rather than around each author. Group like ideas
together then identify which author addresses which ideas.
