Based on your description of the positions in Part I, and your understanding of the issue…

  1. List your tentative claim. What stance are you planning to take? What will you argue for?
  2. List and describe a potential audience. Who will your audience be? What will they value? What are their influences?
  3. Explain why your claim and audience make sense within the context of the issue. That is, why do your choices fit within debate shown in the positions you've described above? Why is this claim appropriate to the overall context? Why is this a fitting audience?
