BackWorkshops and Services for Instructors

Workshops: We offer workshops for faculty and students on many aspects of the writing process. We are prepared to visit classes and do tailored writing-across-the-curriculum presentations for your students on the following topics:

  • writing essay exams, research papers, arguments, or scientific reports;
  • note-taking, managing time, concept mapping, and brainstorming paper ideas;
  • analyzing papers for patterns of errors in mechanics and grammar; and
  • developing thesis sentences, integrating quoted material, paraphrasing, and planning essays and other writing assignments.

In addition, we offer workshops to groups of faculty about how to write good assignments, respond to student writing, and assess student performance. We appreciate requests that are made at least two weeks in advance.

Other Services: In addition to workshops and to the resources available through Writing@CSU and the Writing Studio, we're happy to meet with you about custom designing writing guides, help sheets, and other instructional materials to meet your specific needs and to consult with you about designing writing assignments.

For these and other services, please email Assistant Professor of English and Writing Center Director, Dr. Carrie Lamanna, at Carrie.Lamanna@colostate.edu
