Author PhotoWelcome! This ePortfolio is my simple Web site. It offers links (left) to writing samples, my CV or academic resume (with lots of links to online essays and other information), and Web pages for my current and recent courses at Southern Connecticut State University, New Haven.

I earned my PhD from the University of Washington at Seattle in 2008, and I am currently Assistant Professor of English and Co-Coordinator of Composition at Southern Connecticut State University, New Haven. My essays on teaching, writing, and rhetoric have appeared in the Writing Center Journal, Rhetoric Review, the Writing Lab Newsletter, Interdisciplinary Studies in Literature and Environment, the St. Martin’s Sourcebook for Writing Tutors 4th ed., On Location, Diversity in the Composition Classroom, ePortfolio Performance Support Systems, Inside Higher Ed, and elsewhere. With Michelle LaFrance and Teagan Decker, I am co-editor of the forthcoming collection Peer Pressure, Peer Power: Theory and Practice in Peer Review and Response for the Writing Classroom (Fountainhead Press). I am currently working on a book monograph involving studies and stories of course-based writing tutoring, and co-editing a collection on writing in the performing and visual arts. In Fall, 2013 I will join the English faculty at George Mason University as a visiting assistant professor.
