Writing Guides: An Overview

The Writing Guides serve as online textbooks. Each guide is designed to help you find information quickly on a given topic with easy navigation and links to related topics.

To view the Writing Guides:

1. Log in to your account.
2. Click the My Page button in the main navigation menu.
3. Click on the Writing Guides link.

To view a specific topic in the Writing Guides:

• Follow steps 1 – 3 above.

4. Click on the topic of your choice using the links to the left of the page.

• Clicking on the link for a topic will open a list of related guides.

To view descriptions of the topics:

Note: The default view is to list the guide's titles without a description.

• Follow steps 1 – 3 above.

4. Click the Show Descriptions button at the top of the list.

To view a specific guide:

• Follow steps 1 – 3 above.

4. Click on the guide link in the subtopic menu.

To navigate the outline of the guide:

• Follow steps 1 – 3 above.
• The main page of the guide includes links on the right organized in an overall outline of the guide.

4. Click on the link of your choice to jump to specific sections of the guide.

To view related resources:

• Follow steps 1 – 3 above.
• On the right-side of the guide navigation are links to related resources (if there are any), a link to a print-friendly version of the contents of the entire guide, and a link to a page that lists the Authors and Contributors to the guide.

4. Click on the link of your choice to view the related resources, print the page, or view the authors and contributors.
