Managing Other Account Settings

To change the settings of your Writing Studio Personal Page:

  1. Log in to the Writing Studio.
  2. Click the My Page button in the main menu.
  3. Click the Account Settings link.

In the Account Information section of this page, you can Choose How Information is Displayed on Writing@CSU, View the User Agreement, Review and Update Class Enrollment, Check Browser Compatibility, Manage your Writing Studio Email Announcements, and Delete Your Account.

Account settings

To choose how information is displayed in your Writing Studio account:

  1. Click the Choose How Information is Displayed on Writing Studio link in the Account Information section.

  2. Choose the display options you prefer for each of the items.

For example, you can reset your Bibliography Sources to display in MLA format rather than APA or Chicago style.

  1. Click the Change Display Settings button when your choices are complete.

  2. Click the OK button to return to the Account Settings page using your new display options.

Bibliography settings

To view the user agreement:

  1. Click the View the User Agreement link in the Account Information section.

To review and update your class enrollments:

  1. Click the Review and Update Class Enrollments link in the Account Information section.

  2. View the classes you are enrolled in.
  3. Click the email of the instructor if you wish to contact him/her.
  4. Click the Remove Yourself from this Class link if you wish to remove yourself from a class.
  5. Click the Remove button to confirm the removal from the class or click the Cancel button to remain in the class.
  6. Click the OK button once removed from the class to return to the Update Your Class Enrollments page.

To check your browser's compatability with the Writing Studio site:

  1. Click the Check Browser Compatibility link in the Account Information section.

  2. Review the browser compatibility statistics to determine if your browser is compatible with the Writing Studio site.

Note: most major browsers (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome) are compatible with the Writing Studio site.

  1. Click the Close Window button when you have finished checking the browser compatibility.

  2. Click the Change link next to Check Browser Compatibility at Login to toggle betwen Yes and No to ensure compatibility at log in.

To receive Writing Studio general email announcements:

  1. Click the Change link in the Email alerts section to toggle between Yes and No.

Note: Email alerts for comments on blogs, ePortfolios, and wikis can be set individually.

To delete your Writing Studio account:

  1. Click the Delete My Account link in the Advanced section of the page.

  2. Type your account email, your password, and confirm your password.
  3. Click the Delete My Account button.
  4. Click OK to return to the log in page.

Note: after deleting your account, you will you no longer have access to any of the work you completed in that Writing Studio account.

To choose a preset template theme:

  1. Click the Choose from Preset Themes link under the Writing Studio Appearance section.

  2. Click the theme of your choice.

Your Writing Studio account is now using the new theme.

To choose a new page banner:

  1. Click the Page Banner link under the Writing Studio Appearance section.

  2. Choose a category of style for the banner by scrolling and through the options in the Category drop down menu and click the Change button to view new theme options.
  3. Click the banner image of your choice.

Your Writing Studio account is now using the new banner image.

To choose a new color scheme:

  1. Click the Color Scheme link under the Writing Studio Appearance section.

  2. Click the Choose button under the color scheme of your choice.

To choose a new font scheme:

  1. Click the Fonts link under the Writing Studio Appearance section.

  2. Click the Choose button under the color scheme of your choice.

To choose the size of your text:

  1. Click the Text Size link under the Writing Studio Appearance section.

  2. Select the choice of the size of the text next to the represenative examples.
  3. Click the Update Account Settings once you've completed your choice.
