The goals of this unit include

• exploring forms of support other than personal experience,
• introducing students to the CSU library and techniques of effective research,
• helping students distinguish between academic and non-academic source materials, and
• helping students begin to weave information from a number of different sources into a coherent argument of their own, as they will be required to do in many other contexts throughout their college careers.
