Credibility of the Evidence for Reason Two

Back Back to Identifying the Evidence for Reason Two
Our third step is to ask ourselves, "Is this evidence accurate?" This is perhaps the most difficult step in examining the evidence, simply because we can't always be sure of accuracy without having the writer's sources in front of us or without having experienced what she has experienced. In this case, as we have seen in the section on the credibility of this section, some of the evidence the writer offers is less "documentable" than other evidence she uses. For this reason, it would be reasonable to challenge the accuracy of some of her evidence if we considered some of her numbers to be "off base" in any way. However, it might be that (comparing her numbers to our own experiences of the cost of maintaining a lawn) we would consider her evidence to be entirely accurate.
