Planning, Designing and Coding a Web Site

It's inaccurate to characterize creating a Web site as a rigid, step-by-step process. As you work on a site, you'll return to earlier work, rethink design decisions, update your code, and revise your content.

That said, the step-by-step metaphor works well enough on a conceptual level. As you work on a Web site, you'll generally move through six phases:

Planning

Designing

Coding

 

Going Online

Testing

Announcing



Coding Primers

These primers range from brief illustrations of basic HTML coding issues, such as the structure of a Web page, to extended discussions of more complex issues, such as using forms and frames.
