Using Detail

To summarize the types of proof, read closely for the kinds of examples the author relies on and try to characterize them by choosing a descriptive term for each type. For example, the writer may refer to 10 scientific studies and use two personal anecdotes in his essay. In your summary, then, mention that he relies on both personal experience and scientific studies, although scientific evidence is used much more frequently. Then, chose one or two of the most relevant studies to provide more detail on.
