Planning an Argument

Getting Started

  • Your Issue or Topic: What, about your issue or topic, has the discipline already argued to death? What has been left unresolved, open for discussion or further examination? What lines of inquiry are most important or urgent? What information will be considered common knowledge? How far has current research carried the conversation? What kind of evidence has already been presented? Are you adding something brand new to the body of knowledge? A new Perspective? An Answer? A Solution?
