Conducting Simple Searches of the Web

 

Using MetaSearch Sites

Meta search sites, such as Metacrawler (http://www.metacrawler.com), allow you to conduct a search on several search engines or directories at the same time. These sites typically present a limited number of results from popular search engines and directories on a single page. Meta search sites typically search the major search engines and directories, such as AltaVista, Excite, Go, Google, Lycos, and Yahoo!
