Conducting Simple Searches of the Web

Searching Google: Step 1

When this page is finished loading, you should see the Google main page in the frame on the right side of the screen. You can begin your search of Google by typing a word in the text box and then clicking on the Google Search button.

Beginning Your Search: Please follow these steps:

1. For purposes of our demonstration, please type the word plagiarism in the text box, located near the top of the screen.
2. Then click on the Google Search button, located below the text box.
3. Once you've clicked on the Google Search button, click on the Continue button below.

Note: In addition to its basic search service, Google offers an advanced search page. Google also allows you to search newsgroup messages through Google Groups. Google also provides a directory, Google Directory. In this demonstration, however, we focus only on conducting simple searches.
