Creating an MLA-Style Works Cited List

What is a Works Cited list?

Writers using MLA style create a Works Cited list at the end of their documents to provide publication information for the sources they use. Proper MLA documentation depends on this list. When it is missing, the authors' last names cited in the in-text (parenthetical) documentation make little or no sense, as they no longer point to the full citation at the end of a paper. The Works Cited list includes all of the bibliographic details your readers need in order to seek out your sources on their own.
