Online Composition Placement Examination

Welcome to Colorado State University's online Composition Placement Examination.

The online Composition Placement Exam will be available online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for new students only for the Spring semester, November 6, 2009 at 6:00 a.m. (MST) through November 22nd, 2009 at 12:00 a.m. (MST) and again January 1st, 2010 at 6:00 a.m. (MST) through January 13th, 2010 at 12:00 a.m. (MST).

The online Composition Placement Exam will then be available for new students only beginning April 1, 2010.  Incoming students may take the Composition Placement Exam one time only in an online setting prior to their term of admission using a compatible personal computer. Continuing students must take the exam in a proctored test session on campus (http://writing.colostate.edu/comp/placementdates.cfm).

In order to take the online Composition Placement Examination, students will need to log in with their CSU eID. Students taking this exam will be assessed a fee, which will be billed to their student account. Students may work on their essays for a maximum of 90 minutes after logging in.
