Phase 2 Objectives

By the end of Phase 2, students should be able to

  • Pose and refine a significant, relevant question-at-issue
  • Consider how their values, beliefs, and prior knowledge influence their response to a question-at-issue
  • Conduct effective research into a question-at-issue, using library resources such as SAGE, Lexis-Nexis, Academic Search Premier and other databases
  • Write an annotated bibliography of research into a question-at-issue
  • Write a critical introduction to their annotated bibliography that explains what they have found as well as gaps in their research
  • Write an effective argument in an academic context
  • Document sources using MLA in-text citation and works cited
